Yeah, I've always maintained my 4.5s and 5s are about the same quality - the 5s are just my favourites for whatever reasons, sometimes that undefinable extra little factor
Same logic with individual song ratings, I just know what makes a 5/5 song for me after a certain number of spins.

I mean that's fine Egarran, if you want to rate a 75 album based on the 30 minute edit you've made by all means do that. It just seems a bit unrealistic to me.

If 90% of his enjoyment is derived from listening to 50% of the album then to me that Rating logic makes more sense.
Ok, only liking 30 minutes of a two hour double album might push it, but for an average 40-50 minute album I don't see it that much of an issue. Like I said, 0.5 drop the rating of that 'best 30 minutes rating' and move on

Truly special music is pretty rare imo, out of 15,000 songs I have on my iTunes only 1500 I've rated 5/5 (be aware a lot of the time I only download the 5/5 song from an album so in reality it's even more skewed)

My 5s aren't always classics but albums rounded a bit on a curve based on the overall music scene. Anyway, I have to say I did not enjoy this album. It ruined her voice in what sounded like a computer malfunction with the soundscape.
