yea she's been sayin for years that she grew up on country and loves ppl like lucinda williams and stuff so it's cool to see her adopt something she clearly has a deep connection to; i think her passion for that kinda music is part of what makes the new record a success. also nice that it still feels plenty like a waxahatchee record with the relatively simple songwriting.

this is like the only Waxahatchee album that I skipped over. Gotta check it asap.

There’s some great stuff here (most of the rock songs) but it’s a fairly mixed bag. The lyrics are very good to excellent for the most part but some of these songs/melodies just kinda suck or are just unflatteringly uninteresting.
