hypnotised has a lot of country twang going on, didn't expect that lol.

All I can think about is you and ALIENS are pretty solid. I'm scared to listen to the Big Sean song lol

Nice review, pos'd. I don't think I'll bother with the EP but your praise for a few tracks has kinda intrigued me

"...this band said that they weren't gonna make anymore music..." [2]

Taking a few years off could only help these guys.

This was pretty wafty, the opener and closer were very new age/whale music, more so even than that recent Justin Vernon.

There was some ill-advised ' nondescript Spotify advertising fodder' rave thing in the middle too that even had audience interaction.

All Chris Martin ever had was an ear for melody...he's effectively writing 'anti-melody' music. He just calls in some 'stirring' sections of piano or whatever, just don't ever be confused they're actual honest to goodness melodic sustenance. They're not, at best they're 'window dressing'...at worst I'd call them out as smoke and mirror trickery.

I know the consensus on this site is to hate the mainstream bullshit Coldplay involves themselves in these days but goddammit I couldn't help but get into that Tokyo live version of "Something Just Like This". Maybe I had it cranked at just the right volume in my car yesterday but the crowd in that track is phenomenal and makes it arguably better than the original recording. Goosebumps.

I didn't think the live track was bad, it was alright as far as live recordings go tbh

'I'll check this but only for objectivity maintenance reasons'

If only I had the time. At the moment I'm maintaining my objectivity level through memory, it's actually been a long time since I've listened to something new that's genuinely bad.

The lyrics kill Something Just Like This. Inane, cringy nonsense.

ACHILLES WITH HIS GOLD
BATMAN WITH HIS FISTS

If that happens & I've yet to receive authorisation to use sub-1.0 scores I'm leaving the site in protest.
