probably because it was such a lyrical falloff from his past work that it feels substanceless and the only thing really worth returning to is the production

The fact that this is the producers first album for someone is an amazing feat. I bet his momma is fuckin proud.

I'm playing this for the first time. Vince and co are geniuses for blending hip hop and downtempo electronic music like this. Literally sounds like Burial with rapping over it

Vince picked the producer off soundcloud or something, just a small time guy who had never been given a shot before.

Damn, props to him for taking a huge risk like that. Even more props for being able to pull it off. This is so tight.

I was straight obsessed with this album til I saw the dude live with Tyler, the Creator. Vince was seriously one of the worst live acts I've ever been to. Now, I've heard great things about his performances, so it may have been an off night, but it just put me off wanting to listen to him since then for some reason and this album had never hit the same since

the worst act i have ever seen live was public enemy opening for stone roses - honestly dreadful lmao. injury reserves too were bad

ive had some amazing hip hop gigs though; everyone from tde that i've seen that isnt kendrick has been top tier. dizzee rascal was mad. saba was luvly.

but yeah they're tons more hit and miss than most
