First listens jamming Sachem's Tale, the EP and their side of the split with Wintaar back to back. I really enjoyed them all for different reasons.
TST: The album flow on TST is impecabble, with plenty of more folky softer moments and interludes balancing the heavier parts and made each of them standout even more. The use of nature samples also add to the whole mystical atmosphere and is really well done. What I dug the most was the inclusion of acoustic guitars, tooooons of different synthesized instruments and the female vox made for a truly unique sound and not sounding overbearing or cheesy for a moment. Also, I kinda like the drum sound, feels like it was direct input from e-drums to a drum sampling software (it has the nice kind of vibe of drum machine with a more human touch!)

EP: I was instantly strucked by the more atmospheric approach on the EP via the Paysage D'Hiver influenced approach in production and riffing/synths. However, the inclusion of female vox and synths that were really high in the mix + softer moments for increased dynamics were welcome.

Split with Wintaar: Building upon the sound of the EP, the split gets a bit more clarity in the increase drum presence and lead guitars in the mix. I also like that the harsh vox are a little further back in the mix compared to TST (with maybe a bit less distortion?). The presence of soft/loud dynamics are again welcome and I feel the songwriting is more rewarding here compared to the EP with some of the repeating motifs and such.
Overall on a first listen basis, I really enjoyed every side of the band and they definitely fall into my type of folky/atmospheric BM and I'm glad I discovered them! Also, I will add Sachem's Tales to my metal electro-acoustic list.

IIRC there was an actual studio drummer on TST. Cool album though, only gave it a couple listens when it first came out, but should give it another spin

Yeah I know it's in the bandcamp notes, but I know that sometimes people are turned off by a less organic sound like this but when it's well done I kinda like it for this style of bm

This is such an immersive listen with so many layers and intricacies. Everything seems done within the sole purpose of creating this mystical atmosphere. Slapping a high 4 on this, avg is wayyy too low
