Very nicely written. Been looking for something as fun and pleasant as Totorro's last album. Although it's not summer where I am unfortunately.

The lack of experimentation and growth on this thing saddens me. I like the electronic tracks but they just have the same boring ass chords that every other one of their songs has

careful you're starting to sound like me from 3 years ago. I actually quite like the 4 featured tracks on this, they kind of reek of "guys we really need to do SOMETHING different" but they work really well imo.

Just listened. This is great. It is so hard to make interesting songs when the focus is on guitar noodling. This band somehow manages to create enthralling compositions in almost every song. The electronic songs are more accessible and fit in nice as a break from the more overbearing tracks. Solid album.

This was fun, and maybe it'll grow on me, but overall I wasn't really impressed. Waterslide and the closer were the best tracks. I didn't really care for most of the feature tracks. They just felt lazy and like they were trying to hard to be different. Still, it's good for what it is.

It's starting to grow on me. There are a lot more subtleties in the production but I don't think the melodies are quite as catchy as they were on grow. I guess I was hoping for something else so I was really disappointed on my first couple listens

It's a fun album and I enjoy it. I am just concerned for the band if the only way they can change it up is by incorporating mainstream pop sounds. This is quite simplified compared to Grow. Not saying that is a bad thing, but worth noting.

In Continue, there's a small solo around 2:30 and I swear it just sounds depressed, like this is the last time CHON is going to be able to noodle around on their guitars before their next album where everything is processed into easily consumable electro-pop. I really hope they keep writing relaxed, but inspired songs like Checkpoint and The Space, but pessimism and rationality don't really lend themselves to that desire. Nathan is obviously growing into an incredible drummer, so at least they have that going for them.

Next album is gonna be metal, just to throw everyone off.

Not quite as much depth or momentum as something like Animals as Leaders, but still really enjoyable with fantastic musicianship. Perfect for summer listening.
