They just announced they're going on an indefinite hiatus, just when I was getting excited to see them for the We're Here tour, can't believe it.

Yeah that is what they said. Unfortunately rumors were going around that Danny was leaving or something like that, whatever happened probably had a key role in this decision. Man I still can't believe it, was looking forward to hearing new stuff, and that damn tour as well.

It really is, they always seemed like a family and the last band I'd expect to break up. Dammit

RIP. What a sad state of things. I hope they all will do well eventually.

They once came back from a hiatus with some of their best stuff. But of course, this is a different situation.

idk the album kinda loses steam half way through and the first two tracks blow, can't let go blows too. there's some stunning tracks on this but some awful ones too.

My least favorite songs on here are the first two, Can't Let Go, and the last two. But everything else is stellar, especially Endless Ways, t/t, and Close Your Eyes.

thing is that takes up nearly half the tracks - back to the start is one of the most bland closers of their career, wildfires is bland too, can't let go and leaving it behind are awful and the intro might as well not be there. san francisco would be nice if it weren't 5 minutes long.

it's so weird that endless ways and the optimist are two of the best songs of their career considering the crap quality of the tracks that surround it. springfield, ghosts and close your eyes are really nice too, but it's too little too late when you consider the songs that surround them.

no matter how good some of the songs on here are i can't in good faith call this a good album if half the tracks blow, it barely scrapes a 3 from the quality of the good tracks. it's definitely one of their worst and not underrated in the slightest.

actually nah, changed my mind, doesn't scrape a 3.

if any anathema album is underrated it's distant satellites tbh.

I'll have to listen to this again. Thought it was awesome. Seeing a handful of sour opinions... have to double check.

Still moments of jubilation, but it's tamed by a more level song structure. There's an honesty to it as they're aging.
