Even in his 70's Roger Waters still can make quality stuff. You just have to piss him off. Jokes aside, very enjoyable record that brings back the good old Flyod vibes.

positively surprised by this release. never been very fond of rw solo material. pro's and cons being my favourite. subtle production on this album (courtesy of nigel godrich) keeps it from coming across over sentimental.

instrumentally nothing is really special, the music is only there to support rw's lyrics it seems. the repetitive "five years" style drums are kinda silly, as well as the last song which gets spread over 3 songs....

for now i dig the title track the best but it needs some more ear time

Surprised by how much I enjoyed this

Like the most interesting and least pretentious parts of the Final Cut

it's definitely more consistent than the final cut (no absolute atrocities a la "not now john") but there's no way it's better. songs like "two suns in the sunset", "the fletcher memorial" or "when the tigers broke free" or "your possible pasts" eat it alive

Not Now John is really solid

The Fletcher Memorial is hands down the most pretentious piece of music I've ever heard, but yeah its pretty good

The final cut has a special place in my heart since much of the album was influenced by what you might know as "the falkland wars" but since I'm from argentina and I'm convinced that the islands belong to us is Malvinas wars. No I don't want to start a fight with any British person here but I'm giving my point of view.

Anyone else getting some Lou Reed/Peter Gabriel influence on this?
