the problem with pygmalion is twofold

1. it came out before 2010

2. it is not souvlaki, aka The One Album That People Check tm for this band

Pygmalion is simply amazing. It's a step sideways, but a bold one

why would you discog run an old band when theres so much lame new music to grind so that you can Be A Part Of The Conversation and also shit out a top 100 list every year

The most frustrating part of my Queen deep dive was that almost no one wanted to talk about their albums tbh. Everything else was awesome though. So much good music.

ain't there a #applicable bible story about foundations of sand for that?

"been telling people hey consider checking more than album per band"

Definitely gave me chuckle. I went there the last couple of years and slowly realised I was doing it wrong. Now I’m almost exclusive checking older stuff. Way more satisfying and fruitful tbh. I do get the whole wanting to feel current and part of the convo, but ultimately that’s a fleeting feeling that’ll soon pass.

This music business is for life, I’m playing the long game. On that subject I’ll definitely get around to this. Liking this band a lot more than I remember... guess what? I had only checked Souvlaki before. Listening to their early material has helped me appreciate these guys a little more.
