Gave this a listen. Thought it was quite unmemorable

yeah this is disappointing

i feel like they were too focused on just writing an album that was different to their debut and the record is far less engaging because of that

still good here and there

Not to mention this album is like 3 to 4 years too late

The 8 EP re-release might be my favorite of theirs. This..kinda unmemorable and late, which is disappointing. But t-shirt in the mail!

Is anyone still jamming this? What's your secret? Every time I try, I get bored, then frustrated, then dissapointed, in how close this could have been to greatness.

I'm convinced now that, even more than the muddled production (and fake, plastic THWACK drums), that it's the vocals. If he just wrote lines in a more energetic cadence, we'd be fine.

But he really doest just draw out syllables for 6-seconds at a time, fluctuating notes at random, and singing with dissonance...against the music. And he's loud in the mix. And that kills me. Februus is a classic in my books, and the 8 remaster is wonderful.

I'm still searching for anchors within these songs too. Hooks. Actual moments. It all just flies by without notice.

What happened....what took 6 years...

Almost done my first listen in months. It's a bore until some nice moments on Funambulalufumale, The Bait, Our Embrace, and Your Scent.

Can't wait until 2023 for their next output!

Totally forgot about this tbh. Their ship set sail a long time ago.

I still like this a fair bit, Februus is definitely way better but it has some tasty jams. Don't think I've ever listened to an album and not understood a single word the singer has said before though haha. They deffo need to clean up their production.

weaker songwriting and terrible production mostly. i think a comment bloc made earlier about their ship having set sail a long time ago is probably true too.

The vocals sound like crap on this.
