tbh Jesse Kanda's art style has been growing on me. It's grotesque, but the kind of grotesque that you don't mind absorbing.

This is very strange. Also I'm loving it. I can see where people think the album art is gross. Looks sick or something.

Is it a coincidence that this art is on the front page at the same time as king crimson?

I found the art a little revolting, not sure what to pinpoint - the upnostril shot, the black bags under the eyes, or the gooey looking saliva trapped between the lips. It's just gross.

I don't see saliva, I just see black teeth.

Yeah. That's just teeth. To me it was moreso the eyes than anything. Just looks like someone who's either been beat up or just extremely sick and withering away or maybe decomposing. It's certainly not something I prefer to look at. Lots of good songs here though. "Reverie," "Coraje," "Desafío," "Fugaces." Definitely my favorite release of his. I figured it would be good, but it kinda blew my expectations out of the water. This is definitely one of my favorites this year so far. Feels a lot like a Bjork album.

Album art is, indeed, grotesque, until you hear the album. Then it metamorphoses into something weirdly beautiful; another of a great magicians parlour tricks

Also I understand Espanol and can confirm: lyrically understated and, yes, haunting

Have never listened to an Arca project, but the addition of vocals on this interests me.

Does his music sound at all like his production work on Björk's stuff?

I can make out bits and pieces of Spanish so I can understand some of this album but not much. Mainly just the sexual stuff. Spanish was quite a while back and I rarely ever use it. I feel like anyone can appreciate this for the aesthetics alone. It's beautiful as fuck.

Desafio is about getting fucked, substantial to the enjoyment of the album

@jigglypdiddy I could see how bjork may have influenced some of the vocal aspects of this, but i'm much more reminded of tim hecker / ben frost (aurora) / oneohtrix / some recent synthwave stuff vis a vis the production

I'd be really worried for the people who were grossed out by the cover that went on to watch the music videos.
