It's probably better yeah but i wouldn't call it 'far superior' tbh, this is pretty excellent too. First 4 songs and Car on a Hill are class tunes.

now one of my favorite albums ever: the lyrics are so excellent and the band is so together

She's almost as good as Lorde from what I hear.

Nah, but she's often said she preferred her later albums, that they were more mature
When she played this album to bob Dylan before the release he pretended to be put to sleep by it while the other men in the room talked only about his new release (planet waves I think), she said that in an interview I forget which

hmmm, those bluesy and instrumental bits here are kinda tacky for a Joni record. not a style that suits her
most of the rest is good, tho

shall do so, grazie

The first five songs on this album are flawless. People’s parties into same situation especially

Ladies of the Canyon is definitely underrated...being sandwiched between Clouds (my favorite from this early period) and Blue.
I never find myself wanting to revisit this one...and Hejira reings supreme...but no one asked me.

Hejira has like three of the best songs ever written (Hejira, Amelia and Song for Sharon) and the rest I'm kind of indifferent to. Never really managed to get into the first three albums however. I may need to have another crack at them.
