That tracklist is total BS. Classic compilation cashgrab.
New song rips.

New song is cool AF. Goes dirty as hell after the Scott Kelly part. White walker is a banger that I haven’t visited in awhile. A bit disappointed with the bait and switch but I know they still have a genuine full length coming.

This would have been the ideal tracklist:
01. Fallen Torches
02. A Commotion
03. Asleep in the Deep (Instrumental)
04. Emerald
05. A Spoonful Weighs a Ton
06. The Bit
07. Atlanta (Ft. Gibby Haynes)
08. Cut You Up With a Linoluem Knife
09. Jaguar God (Instrumental)
11. Just Got Paid
12. White Walker
13. Halloween (Instrumental)
14. Stairway to Heaven
15. Orion

Is this new track going to be part of some new album, or is just another loose ep track?
I'm an old person, I need LP's.
When do they start playing Jaguar God live?
Where can I catch that record of rarities?

yeah it's just like, B-sides, instrumentals, and live tracks. Basically a loose single and a big cash grab. I'm not even going to bother.

I gotcha bro. “Medium Rarities” is a compilation album containing that new track and a bunch of (mostly) previously released covers, instrumentals, and live cuts. It comes out Sept 11. From everything the band has been saying since before the pandemic it seems like a genuine full-length with new music is on the way, though I imagine things have been derailed a bit by the current nightmare hellscape we all currently inhabit.

ya, np. sorry to be a downer lol. I like collecting actual singles -- the Oblivion CD bundle, White Walker LP, etc -- but this is more half-baked than medium rare.

I actually prefer having these b-sides compilations instead of having a bunch of songs spread in various artists comps. But then again this is lacking a few key covers from them. I think it's cool they decided to release this while we get the proper full length to be released later this year or early 2021.

New single is really damn good. Glad they are going back to that heavier leviathan-remission era sound. Crushes the new gojira single imo

Woah really? Oh man don’t do this to me.

Sorry, should have read Leviathan/Remission, I wasnt going for chronologically, I am aware the order of their albums lol.
And yeah its pretty heavy dude, I mean that one chorus from brann is kinda meh but besides that.
Troys leadin the way on vocals, with heavy, downtuned riffage with the pinch harmonics and all that, its nice.

Its not the matter of the order...Demon simply do not believe Masto is going for the "heavier leviathan-remission era sound" and he's resilient to press play on the single.
I think its a very cool song and I do like the Brann part as well with the ending m/ riff

Ah, misunderstanding then.
I really wish this was like a real EP, I own every mastodon lp and that stairway to heaven cover, and im really hesitant on purchasing this new compilation.
