I mean, my favorite records are Colony and Whoracle as well, but Come Clarity, for example, is just an excellent, excellent modern metal album.

Yeah and Crawl Through Knives - by 2006, Anders hadn't screamed with that much passion for a long time. In general I just thought that it was a passionate, energy-filled record.
They're due to release a new album this year. I'm definitely excited for it. I don't turn to Playground too much in general, but it was a decent record. If they can better that one, I'll be content.

A sense of purpouse is the worst in flames album, it was average. playground was ok but nothing more. Going to check it out buy y expectations aren't the highest

ASOP was indeed worst In Flames and somehow I still liked it a lot. I guess all of us have those bands that can do little to no wrong.
My expectations are modest as well, because while I expect to like the new album, I'm not sure they have it in them to release another album as good as Come Clarity (my fave from their modern metal era). Still excited for it though, because more In Flames, yay.

I really like Dark Tranquillity, but have always preferred In Flames a bit. DT members are all stand-up guys though and better crowds flock to their concerts nowadays - hence why I rather see them than IF live, too.
And I know this is heresy what I'm about to say, but I've only heard Slaughter from ATG. Granted it's an excellent album, but for some reason I never checked out their back-catalog. I should actually do that in the coming days: make a nice ATG day for myself.

I also prefer DT over In Flames, mainly due to the vocals and the new stuff is so good. This reminds me I should hear the first In Flames record.

Yeah someone had mentioned Come Clarity a few posts above. I actually prefer STYE over Come Clarity. Just has a certain atmosphere to it that always takes me back to the first time I heard it. Back then, a new In Flames album was still something worth looking forward to.
