Yup, Mildenhall is the second best tune, reminded me a bit of the Luke Temple actually. As you said, the rest, probably won't revisit much if at all.

This is good summer afternoon music, or at least I imagine it will be. Rubber Ballz, Dead Alive and The Fear are great, though there's definitely a couple of skip jobbos on here too (Cherry Hearts in particular springs to mind).

Cherry hearts is like the definition of good summer afternoon music =(

Glad you see some positive in this though despite the overwhelmingly lukewarm reception; I really enjoyed it.

Just not feeling it right now. Might change when it is actually summer, eh? ;]
Actually, I'd say after another listen, Mildenhall onwards this is a pretty fine album. That 2.8 makes it look worse than it really is.

2.8 is a little harsh agreed

This is all so harmless. Futile jangle augmented by melodic spangle. This band was meant to change lives? They changed nothing, they mean nothing, they are nothing.

Still a 3 though.

Been on a minor Shins kick recently and the album art rules so I checked this out but it didn't sound that great. Oh well.

Definitely agree with Sowing on this one... the only really poor tracks are Painting a Hole and Rubber Ballz. I'm really enjoying Half a Million and the title track. The others are all good to great.

First track on this worked wonders walking to the office on this sunny morning.

Listened to this, yeah the rating is somewhat legit. Gonna give it a 3 because on its own it's not bad, some decent lighthearted stuff here. But put up against past shins records (even port of morrow) it's not very good.

I wish this whole album was as good as 'The Fear' fantastic song, really.

Might've been looking at something else!

I don't know, a fair rating is probably a three; but a part of me feels incredibly dull and old listening to this.
