Gotta say, I'm so so so so so glad that I've been revisiting Maiden's work lately. I was a late bloomer when it came to their music -- my gateway bands were mostly in extreme metal rather than traditional metal -- but there's definitely a reason they're so adored. The 80s albums in particular are so damn well-crafted, and I love the little prog touches they put in the music (mostly courtesy of Steve's influences, of course)

They hit that perfect balance of anthemic and complex for me \m/

Major gateway band for me. I would say that no other band hits the spot quite like Maiden when you are in the mood for them. When you are in the mood for any other bands, it is still incredible but just not on the same level as Maiden if that makes any sort of sense.

As crazy as it sounds - they have an aura all their own.

I just read that they will be showcasing this album along with Senjetsu on their new tour in 2023. Take my money.

So they'll actually play Alexander the Great for the first time? Hope it happens, lol

Caught Somewhere In Time and Sea Of Madness are the two I’m really looking for here

Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner would be great to hear too, since apparently that one's only been played once in their career

Hard to imagine Deja-Vu was ever played as well despite it being Maiden’s most underrated tune imo

Yeah, it's already been confirmed that ATG was never played live. Not even in Greece, lol

Saw these guys live last week, they killed it. Unfortunately didn't play anything from this album but it was still a great setlist.

Just heard Blackie Lawless say in an interview that Maiden feels about this album the same way WASP feels about Electric Circus (least favorite, tired album by a tired band). Never heard they felt that way about it before.

Besides 'Caught Somewhere In Time', 'Wasted Years', 'Stranger In a Strange Land', this album is really played out. 2-2.5

Least favorite of their 80s output, but 2 seems a little harsh unless you've got No Prayer For The Dying at like a 1

It’s more like Bruce doesn’t like it. Brings him back to a dark period of his life.

I wonder how Bruce feels about his son having made a metalcore album
