Although some may think this is hyperbole--for all I know it might be and I'll bump my rating down--it's not without reasons.

Shin-Ken is an amazing album, but fell short because the atmospheric tracks sometimes weren't blended well/were inconsistent with the other songs. The production as well made the performances less engaging and a bit too unpolished.

Spiritual Migration is a wonderful display of technical expression and has some mind-blowing song structures. However, it didn't really have the engaging ambiance of their previous work and lacked direction at points, with instruments jumping in and out with no real purpose.

Here, they finally made a merger: you get Shin-Ken inspired songs but with an appropriate production, combined with the atmosphere of that same album at a greater level and the technical and songwriting skill of Spiritual. With the epic composition of the title track, they even call back to Core, including the return of beautiful female vocals. It's not their best but it could very well be the album they've been trying to make for years.

That's quite the analysis after only one listen :D but I agree with a lot of it. I think it's fair to say that this band is pretty good.

I went in to this ready to analyze my mine, I knew it was gonna take a lot of deliberation and thought

Gonna need at least two more listens to really be sure on how I feel but it's certainly an amazing album

Not including it in my top 50 since it happened after I finalized the list and may/may have a place in it. We have yet to see.

The Core-inspired female vocals on the t/t are probably my favorite part of the album. Was actually gonna mention that aspect in my review, but somehow managed to forget. Regardless, the t/t in general is phenomenal.

Glad you're enjoying this so much, Mars. You're basically the OG Persefone fan around here as far as I know
