"Spirals Within Thy Being" is honestly so underrated. One of my favorites.

RYM sleeps on this hard, but as Kusangii said, they're not exactly accurate.

First half got hardcore slept on when this album came out. I agree the second is better though, amps up the scale a lot.

A very good review, however, I think it was missing to add the clear influences of Cynic, not only in the title of the album and the lyrics that coincide in exploring Hindu spiritual philosophical concepts but to include Paul Masvidal in the opening song and in "Living Waves", where it is not autotune but vocoder as in the Focus album. Paul is also a co-composer in those tunes. Persephone is truly one of the silent kings of progressive death metal / jazz fusion, and I can't believe I'm going to see them this 2023 :D
