Boredom through to Innocence is a wonderful lyrical, thematic and stylistic run

Yeah, that's easily my favourite stretch on the album. Actually that's my favourite run on any Lillies album and what cemented my love of the band.

If I want a nihilistic clown character to spit vulgarity at me for 70 minutes, Mr. Bungle's first album is about a million times more diverse and entertaining, in both lyrics and sound. We are talking a broadway show versus a pissed up beggar yodeling in the street
Having said all that... this is still pretty cool

Where to next, Doof? I downloaded the discography and it's like 30 albums

I don't dig Bungle actually, but I know a lot of people do.
I mean these dudes pretty much just do this and this alone as their art - where for Patton and that lot it's a side show, not their 'day job'
Not that that's bad, but I like the idea these lads live and breath this all the time

poly if you want something real similar to this with more of a theme - then 'Lulu'
the first album is great, esp the middle stretch of songs, that's an essential.
'Brothel' is the most highly regarded overall I think so that's a safe bet too
Oh, and the most recent album 'Soho' is maybe the most mature of all their stuff and really strong.

They are definitely a band I ramble on about, but I feel the 'killer clown' parallel invited the comparison. Thanks for the recommendations
