Hype Never understood the whole to much music thing. If I artist I really enjoy wants to give me more tracks and a longer album then give me more music that will hold me over until a few years later come the new album. More music from a great band is only a good thing.

its mostly in the context of single albums, but its especially an issue with metal. metal, for all of it's strengths, isn't very "dynamic" at the album level. It's essentially the same 4 or 5 sounds rearranged for the entire length of an album. i dont care how good of a band it is, after 60 straight minutes of listening to essentially the same thing just presented slightly different gets boring as fuck.

and of course its not always the case but i usually end up getting all the way through and realizing that 3 tracks could have been cut and nothing really would have been lost.
