I can't agree with that at all, I have it 4'd. All Zep is essential except Coda. I like synths sometimes .

This is soo superior to ITTOD it's not even funny, and this is one of their weaker efforts.

Yeah, thought I'd give a solo Frusciante album a try. Will see when I can jam it.

This is probably my least favorite of the 8, but all 8 are great in my opinion I'm gonna bump this to a 4.

ITtOD is a great album, I find "Fool in the Rain" to be one of Zeppelin's most unique songs. Remember the time for the band, as the album was essentially Plant's and Jones'. At the time Page was too fucked up on heroin and Bonham on alcohol, so their contributions were limited for the most part, despite both having absolutely great parts. But ITtOD really shines in Jones' work, as it seems like the only album where his contributions are put in the spotlight most of the way through.

Same here fallen, 'cept I've all the first 6 at a 4.5 minus this one.

It's great yes, but the band's struggle comes across all too visibly and that's not a good thing.

Yeah, but the album is better than the sum of its parts and that's how it stands with me.

I find that their folk elements that they focused on here were superior on IV.

Bonzo and JPJ were gods, that's all that matters.

All of Zep were gods.

I completely agree with you fallen, but their folk efforts on IV, especially "Going to California" and "The Battle of Evermore" really strike me in a great way.

@SurfWaxAmerica: It definitely wasn't Zeppelin on the top of their game. Without the other two members really playing part it was Zeppelin being half the band they were.

I'm just going to put this opinion on the table, except for Coda, Zep never released something worse than a 4/5.

The folk on IV > III
Going to California is so good like fuck!

I don't even consider Coda a Zep album, but that's just me.

Coda wasn't really an album, rather scrapped old demos.

@Fallen I can definitely understand your criticisms, but like I said earlier, the album is better than the sum of its parts. And yes, Going to California is one of my favs from Zeppelin in general.

No Bonzo = No Zep
RIP hard.
