the more i listen to this, i get more disappointed. It just feels really disjointed and feels more like a mix tape than an album.

Yeah, it took me a while to articulate that in the review but that's exactly how I felt. I spent a lot of time writing about the good stuff but at the end of the day it felt like a mixtape and not as smooth as those two albums.

agreed. based on the fact that he released two of these as singles far before the actual release kind of makes it seem like that two.

There's a lot more good than bad on here but I can agree with you on the lack of cohesiveness.

Yeah audition and never better definitely shit on this but when this goes it goes. I wish he just fucking rapped more like the first verse of superposition or almost all of wearing a bear. When he just cuts all the bullshit and just raps he's close to untouchable

Which is why audition and never better both kill this. Less little hook centered songs, less guest spots weighing it down, just bars

The features definitely bring it down even though some of them are quite good but songs where Stef only has one verse just isn't enough. (For me at least.)

Normally I would agree with your comment on him spitting bars however, I keep finding myself gravitating towards the more melodic tracks on here. Faded, Thieves/Kings, and Gravediggers. Part of that is cuz I already played out Wearing a Bear and Sleepdrone/Superposition before this dropped.

I like how the features on this are kind of understated. They're not here for hype, so they all lend really good bars to their songs.

I think it's pretty cool it wasn't the usual suspects from mpls. I just prefer P.O.S to pretty much any other rapper, so my opinion is biased as hell.

That track has so many levels of greatness. I had to look up what superposition is but the metaphor for his state at the time is so deep.
