I got this in my queue so I'll get to it eventually. Don't have much context on their last album personally so I might do that first.

Yeah, t/t is one of the best here. The last half of the album in particular excels.

Could not agree more, I mean I like some of God is my friend, jackals and the titel track, but that's about it for me.
I really wanted this album to be great, but I must confess it just doesn't stay with me at all.

This turned out waaaay better than I expected, I'm loving this right now. One thing that bothers me to no end after repeated listens is the way Wild Flowers cuts off, sounds really awkward. Good review dude, have a pos

After the initial shock, I'm really digging this.
Don't know why, but I feel some Arctic Monkeys vibes from this record; angrier and more inspired than today's Arctic Monkeys.
Really good.
edit: just saw the other comments saying the same thing. Totally agree.

I'm really enjoying this, but why does the wild flowers chorus look like it was written by a 13 year old having just discovered rhymezone.com?

Great review man!
Personally, I absolutely LOVED the first Rattlesnakes album. It helped me through a very difficult time of my life. But I really like how they try different things on Modern Ruin. Franks voice is absolutely fantastic. I love the melodies and the combination of different styles.
But yeah, there'll be lot of people who won't like this album. I guess Frank knew the risks when he decided to make an album like that. It's more "indie rock" than "hardcore punk". But why the fxck not?

I thought Blossom was awesome, while this is a big change I feel the songs are mostly good enough to not be too cynical about the new sound, on first listen. I think the middle four songs were noticeably weaker but still enjoyed it a lot overall.

Loved Blossom. So far kind of unsure about this though. I don't necessarily think it's bad.. it just isn't all that appealing to me compared to their first record
