artiswar, at first I was gonna disagree and then I thought wow what if instead of having IHYS as a staple, it's God Called In Sick Today woah, what if indeed.

They used to end their shows with GCIST and Davey would literally walk on the crowd while he sung it as people held him up. It was sick, wish they'd bring that back! They've been playing some older songs recently, so I wouldn't be surprised. And yeah, all those songs you mentioned are great but Okay I Feel Better Now is kind of average to me. Love This Celluloid Dream to death though.

ouch, we're gonna have to fight my friend. Okay I Feel Better Now is like the AFI ballad for me 10/10, no lower than a top 10 song of all time, it's probably still top 5. chorus is only the second best part though, that bridge just gets me.
lol but yeah, their sets have been pretty crazy. when i saw them in '17 I got The Lost Souls, Of Greetings and Goodbyes, Malleus Maleficarum, Paper Airplanes, 6 to 8 and Rabbits are Roadkill. and This Celluloid Dream is like a set staple now, I love it.

It's a really good song and it was even better live, it's just a little more emo than I like my AFI. And yeah, they've been playing some deep cuts lately which is exciting, even previously unplayed songs like Now The World.

Okay I Feel Better Now is one of my favorite Davey vocal performances, honestly. He shows a lot of restraint, and sings in a lower register, which I feel suits him the most (kind of like his Blaqk Audio work). Crash Love was a high point for his vocals, especially during that tour.

This Celluloid Dream is probably best AFI song.

@Sowing I noticed you brought up CTL bonus tracks on the Jimmy feed and speaking of bonus tracks, have you listened to all the B-Sides from Crash Love? All of them are very strong.
Where We Used to Play (Crash Love B Sides)
Breathing Towers To Heaven (Crash Love B Side)
We've Got The Knife (Crash Love B Side)
Too Late For Gods. (Crash Love B Side)

I guess Fainting Spells is from the DU sessions but I prefer it to the CL B-sides

The CL B-sides are some of the best work AFI has ever done. I'll never understand how those songs were abandoned/replaced for the official album.

Well the album itself is also some of their best work

they are good b-sides but I prefer the STS b-sides personally. The UK version of STS is cool because it includes This Time Imperfect after the bonus tracks, so they include the bonus tracks as more part of the album then just tacking them on the end

pretty much all their b-sides are god-tier

STS, DU and CL B-Sides were all incredible. I wonder why they didn't release any from Burials or Blood .. not super fond of either actual record, but maybe itll be a CL situation where the B-Sides are better than the actual album.

Jade's elusive ipod that has every AFI b-side, and unused idea on it, allegedly.

haha yes. It is rather odd that there's been no b-sides released since Crash Love though. Come on AFI, throw us a bone.
