I respect this album for building the Metallica legacy, but there's just so much filler. Good lord, only like six of the 10 songs aren't totally forgettable.

Ride the Lightning was shorter for a reason.

Consistency I'd say both are roughly equal, but The Black Album is definitely the more memorable one. I don't think I can name anything off there that I've forgotten the sound of, but tracks like Phantom Lord are forgettable AF.
