Don't do it, your blood pressure will rise and then you'll start trashing all around and act like a

Nowhere near as bad as I remember it being. Hetfield's vocals are still lol at some points tho

A 3 is too low for this dude. This destroys everything post-MoP easily. I
need to hear Death Magnetic again though.
Seriously, I don't get the people who rate KEA and KimB below a 4...

I also don't get the love for AFJA. It has:
-A weak 2nd half
-Little musical innovation
-Overstretched songs
-Repetitiveness
And people say it's better than this...
|
| |
Yeah this is way better than Justice.

Nice to have you on my side JT ;)

Best vocals tho

Metallica's all about the riffs and basslines for me, everything else is secondary.

Let me be the devil's advocate here:
"-A weak 2nd half"
Harvester of Sorrow, Frayed Ends, Dyers Eve are all excellent songs for me. There's no letting down.
"-Little musical innovation"
Dude, AFJA was one of the first progressive thrash albums along with Voivod's stuff.
"-Overstretched songs"
I'll agree with you on that even though I don't think they're THAT overstretched as a lot of guys claim.
"-Repetitiveness"
This is tied with the previous argument basically so I'll partly agree. There is some unnecessary repetitiveness in a couple of songs but it's not that much.
Having said the above, I too prefer KEA but AJFA is one hell of an album. Also, I don't know how Jamie feels but one of the finest tech/prog thrash albums, the awesome Victims of Deception, is very much influenced by AJFA. Sorry for the length guys.

vox are awesome,love it
|

AJFA was somewhat innovative agreed manosg and I'm sure it did influence Victims of Deception but even so, VoD is far superior in every way.

I used to dislike this for the occasionally cringe-worthy vocals, I thought some of the riffs were forgettable, and the drumming is sub-par.
However after jamming this a few more times (since I've been on a bit of a Metallica binge recently), the riffs and the bass are pretty fucking sweet, and it's really not fair to judge Metallica over their drumming (it's been said again and again, Lars isn't best drummer, I think we can get over it). I still can't stand the vocals at some points, and that's what annoys me most. I find it hard to enjoy this when Hetfield's voice cracks every time he tries to do a high note.
