The thing is their style requires a vocalist to be interesting, you could tell how boring/shallow this would be if you took the vocalist away. Everyone plays of their strengths

I kinda disagree with you Soundsy boy. I'd say they've proven themselves to be interesting on their own - Shadow Kingdom/Rús on their debut was absolutely incredible, and there's plenty going on in the second half of this in particular to suggest they could pull it off. They'd need a slight change in angle but I wholly believe they have it in them.

Maybe man. I just have trouble imagining how this would go over without a vocalist. I'm interested in seeing what they could do in the future but I don't feel like they could create the same intimate atmosphere as an instrumental band

Oh, I agree there - Billy's an amazing vocalist and she'll be definitely missed. But they can create atmospheres without using Billy as they've proven, and while their music won't be the same I still reckon they'll produce a very enjoyable record next time around.
Which probably means it'll be shit and I'll have egg on my face.

I'm still holding onto the faintest bit of hope that maybe Billie will continue to collaborate with them in the studio or they'll replace her with someone equally good (like somebody else mentioned, singer from Makthaverskan would be a nice fit)
