Spit Out The Bone thrashes harder than anything since Justice
If they cut this album in half and just kept all of the great songs and didn't make it a fucking double album, this would be one of my favorite modern releases by an old thrash band

this was only turned into a double album because it costs more to for the consumer to buy two CDs, thus making the band more money. if you're gonna do that, at least make the album more than 79 minutes.

Wish I still had this guy's enthusiasm when it comes to Metallica.

Hey man, my love for Master and Lightening will never die.

Only heard this album once and it was when it leaked, but I recall listening to something from this a while back and the shit sounded like Evile, who were imitating Metallica in the first place back when they were popular (Evile, I mean).
Metallica imitating a bunch of Metallica imitators/copycats from England. Let that sink in...

Lmao, yeahhhhh
Death Magnetic also sounded like a Metallica cover band (Especially with how that album is laid, Jesus Christ) but at the time I was so fucking happy it wasn't Re-Load or St. Anger that I briefly fell in love for a few months.
The good songs here get a little less of that vibe from me, although still a little bit for sure. But songs like Moth into the Flame is different enough where I don't really feel like it's as direct of them being like "HEY WE USED TO BE A THRASH METAL BAND C'MON GUYS, FORGET THE 90s/MOST OF 2000s PLS"

The problem with Metallica is that much of their best material is either NWOBHM influence milling or has Mustaine written all over it. Once thrash began catching up around '85 or so, they really weren't interesting anymore, even in the late '80s.

Yeah the ''Metallica cover band'' comments that DM received back in the day were weird to me until I knew about Evile. Really amusing.
I even remember a friend of mine said that those guys were going to overthrow Metallica's position in the Big Four.
I still see comments like that, but now with Havok and Gama Bomb cause no one cares about Evile anymore. They actually suck ass.

Little did you know, it was in fact the gays that wrote this album and forced Metallica to record it at gunpoint.
|
| |
So... who wrote the best Metallica album since Justice, Trivium or Evile? Hehehehe...
Edit: Damn that was very fast.
