It's always been mainly James and Lars

Yeah, but he's always prepped his solos at least. That's how he ended up with some really good, really memorable solos in the past.

he did write some cool solos in the past tho. I won't mention the obvious ones, but I've always really liked the solos in wherever I may roam

edit: lol willie was quicker

Haha. Metallica plays Enter Sandman on kids toys with Jimmy Fallon and his house band... although, I think Lars is using his typical drum set up. I'm not going to lie, it was pretty cool.

The production kills this for me tbh. It sounds so flat and boring

I can appreciate what they're trying to do here but I just can't get into any of this

I listened to it with headphones for the first time. It definitely hits with a good pair of headphones.

On the topic of Kirk's musical contributions, he wrote the classic "Die! By my hand!" bridge in Creeping Death while he was in Exodus (Originally used in the demo-exclusive track Die By His Hand) and then brought it with him to Metallica. He also wrote the main riff of Trapped Under Ice while with them, and Exodus even gave him a writing credit on the song that used that riff, Impaler, when they eventually recorded it in 2004.

That's some interesting shit. I'll have to track those songs down. I didn't know any of that.

I'd like to see a collaboration between the two Daves in Megadeth and James/Lars. Yes, the drums would suck... but nostalgia would fix that.

As expected. Hate riddled with some positive statements. I'll still give it an honest go.

I listened to this with recently purchased headphones of good quality and the production still sucked tbh
