Decent album but it has more filler and an overall less Epic feeling that was more present on Construct.

They need to change things up. Before they started working on this album Jivarp said they had a lot of ideas in the Anathema vain

That would be interesting

As long as it doesn't sound like the bonus tracks for this, I'm game. I don't mind the cleans or the gothic sound, but those songs go absolutely nowhere.

As much as this is a step-down from the band's best work, you still have to be impressed by the quality the band is still able to churn out after so many years. I feel like they still have another classic in them actually

Honestly think this is up there with the triage of damage, character, and fiction. Not a bad song here.

and I agree, sir.

Not a bad song but none of the songs here would make a compilation of my favorite songs from the band.

Forward Momentum, Neutrality and The Pitiless are some of the bands best songs tbh

I'm surprised how well this album held up, at first I thought I'd fanboyed out with the rating when it came out, but it's absolutely excellent 4 years later. Clearing Skies is one of my favorite DT songs

Ugh should be pretty soon. I am a bit cautious tho, even Sundin is no longer part of the band. It'll be interesting to see what Ammott can bring to the table tho

Yeah Johan's contributions excite me more than Ammott's, but having them both will be interesting. Though I think Jivarp and Brandstorm will probably be the main songwriters for the next one

hmm never really heard anything he's done before, I'll have to give it a whirl. Yeah, Jivarp and Brandstrom being there gives me hope that it's still gonna sound like DT, but tbh I like the idea of injecting new blood into the mix, let's see if they can surprise us

New single leaked, it sounds like DT. Has riffs which is very nice. I think both new guitarists will bring a resurgence of good leads which is what this band needed. As much as I like Brandstrom the keyboards were the epicenter of the melodies in far too many cases on recent albums. This new track is all about the guitars. It's no Monochromatic Stains or White Noise/Black Silence but it's pretty decent. The harmonized solo part is awesome.
