I mean The Gloaming is not my favorite on here, but I don't see what's wrong with it. Creepy electronic music about the rise of dictators
Also, I don't think Radiohead could make Arscore if they tried... okay maybe Feral? Feral is amazing

yeah, agreed tbh (though not huge on the buildup either). as you said earlier tho this album has 2+2=5 and there there for awesome climaxes so idk. maybe it's such an eclectic mess that every thing you say about it will be pertinent one way or another

Quick takes:
2+2=5 - A fun rock bop with a great buildup. 4/5
Sit Down. Stand Up - An okay electronic bop with almost exactly the same buildup as 2+2=5. It feels unnecessary due to its placement on the album. 3.5/5
Sail to the Moon - A Beautiful piano-driven ballad dedicated to Thom's son. 5/5
Backdrifts - A fun electronic track with cool percussion about how politicians like to backtrack of their previous claims once they're unproven to be popular. 5/5
Go to Sleep - What is this The Bends all of a sudden? It's good though. 3.5/5
Where I End and You Begin - Blue balls incarnate. Great buildup, great bass, epic lyrics... AND it just ends? No proper ending? No segway? Now it just feels pointless. 2/5
We Suck Young Blood - Boring bullshit pretending to be a good piano ballad. 1.5/5
The Gloaming - Has a lot of similar strengths to Backdrifts vibe wise, but doesn't feel varied enough to be a fave. 4/5
There There - Best song on the album. Unlike Go to Sleep, this rock song actually sounds like it belongs in 2003. Oh shit, now that's how you pay off a buildup. 5/5
I Will - Not enough happens in this song to feel one way or another about it. 2.5/5
A Punchup At a Wedding - A song that should be put into a film about a wedding gone wrong. Everything here is epic as hell. 5/5
Myxomatosis - /!DISSSSORTION!/ A simple harder rocker that I think legit everyone likes. 4.5/5
Scatterbrain - Kinda sounds like a b-side, but it's really pleasant. Sounds like a holdover from OK Computer. 3.5/5
A Wolf at the Door - Intense song, but a weird choice for an ending. Should've been mid-album. 4/5

I like all of these, it's a lovely weirdo and it has many faults but we've been through a lot together. Plus some of their best stuff is on here. It has both the rock and electronic sides represented nicely.
