the second half of this record is actually pretty good.......better than anything the band has released post-Promised Land

I can bump this to a 3. There's some genuine attempt to be creative

6. The Hands

7. Speed Of Light

9. Re-Arrange You

10. The Chase

16. Fear City Slide

Those are my favorite tracks, which I find to be pretty great. This album in places has some kind of proggy swagger that's quite unique for this band. Really feels like a musical at times

Jamming the two albums of the O. Mindcrime duology back to back. Time to check this.

Hated it too but I came to like it, mostly (it's not the strongest of 3s). You dug any of the tracks I mentioned?

Haven't jammed this one yet but trying to revive a classic is almost never a good idea.

I have to admit that I haven't checked these guys as much as I should, with the exception of Operation: Mindcrime which is a classic ofc. But the sheer brand name (or is it product name?) of this one makes me want to jam it.

i think you would really enjoy the 1983 ep manos, it has that raw sound and it goes very hard

may i also suggest empire and promised land.....they both have a much more polished sound especially from a production standpoint and are both considered part of their 'classic' era

i notice that you don't have these 3 rated

and by the way, Dio is a guest vocalist on The Chase on this one

"You dug any of the tracks I mentioned?"

need to check it a couple more times to be sure but no, first 3 listens didn't reveal anything special or memorable

'no need to be mentioned, his godly voice is unmistakable'

that goes without saying, but you kind of need to know that it exists, especially on this album which doesn't exactly get much attention
