can't say I enjoy it as much as the first or other Owen records but I like this for that same reason: relevancy

No way, it's not terrible but it's boring middle of the road indie rock. the original had conviction and a 'young' charm to it. you got the feeling the singer was a lost kid when singing the songs and it made you sympathize with the guy. this is just way too clean and overproduced.

also the drumming on here is pretty odd and not in a good way. at certain moments it doesn't even fit the songs rhythmically. the original LP had quirky drumming too, but on here it really sticks out in a bad way. the best song on here is probably 'i've been lost for so long'

i think this speaks to being a lost adult, rather than kid, with all the responsibility and misplaced nostalgia and directionlessness that entails, but also retains the sonic palette of the original pretty faithfully!

i like the percussion on this although i can see why one wouldn't

New song is pretty good, much fuller production and sounds like they're not just trying to replicate the past.

wow Silhouettes was gorgeous, way more fully embracing their post-rock influences and it's really a powerful piece

Sort of weird that they have a new song featuring Hayley from Paramore. I haven't listened to it yet but I'm impressed she even knew who these guys were. Though they were popular among niche crowds, they really were a cult band for a long time. And still sort of are.

Wasn't she like 10 when they dropped their debut album?
