Fugue is one of the best tracks tbh

Well a lot of times tracks that don't click well on first listen grow on me a lot with repeated listens so it's quite possible that I end up liking it. Regardless I applaud them for going with something different.

On my second listen through and this is brutal. Has the chaotic nature of MM with the metal tendencies of OP, and the experimentation of Ire. Can't wait to see some of these live next month!

Enjoy, Starless - report back on how crazy that is. I'm seeing them at the Paramount in NY on the 18th of November. Have Gojira and Meshuggah before then, so that should hold me over (saw Opeth and Devin/BTBAM last month - craziest Fall for concerts probably ever)

I keep forgetting about new Meshuggah. There have been so many huge releases lately that things keep slipping through

Album is pretty crazy, really good though. Good review too, though it could be a bit smoother in some places.

"this record is strangely accessible" - maybe it's because I'm not super familiar with Dillinger but I not so sure about this.

some of the dillinger-spazzcore parts here remind me more of calculating infinity than any post dimitri dillinger.

Nicceee I went to college in New Paltz so pretty much all of my concerts for four years were in Poughkeepsie

That MM-esque break in Low Feels Blvd rules so hard.

glad they didn't play it particularly safe for this last record, tons of variety and culminations of influence. i get so many moments of "wow, that sounds like "x" dillinger album" on here. it's like an anthology

Agreed hard refused.

It'll grow most probably starless, it's such a dense record.

The second part of ,,Wanting not so much to as To'' feels like something Slint would've written, mainly the atmosphere and the spoken word part. Am i the only one ? Yeah this album pretty much blew my mind on my second listen.

Two 5s in two weeks. (to be fair, both bands were already in my top 5)

Fight me.
