Yah

They’re doing a full length album with the same name?

Yeah but Cokie the Clown is the name of the side project. He’s using the persona from that EP for a new full length
Thought it looked questionable but “Punk Rock Saved My Life” is on par with the best NOFX tracks

Kinda hate this band
|
| |
But I love Atari
|

Eh, I dunno. I really like 2 or 3 of their albums, but most of their other stuff is meh. So, I can't say I love or hate them.

wow the cokie the clown album is bleak. swing and a miss, bathtub and the time i killed my mom especially are fucking brutal

digging several tracks on it pretty hard
it's quite bleak agreed, but songs like "Fair Leather Friends" even things out a bit with charming references to The Princess Bride and True Romance. and thank god for that closing track, which basically sounds like one of NOFX's best songs
I don't think his voice has ever improved once tho in 30 years lol

ive never liked his voice its always been my barrier that prevents me from fully getting into this band. the closer is def the highlight of the album yea.

Is NOFX THAT bad live? I was looking for pop punk bands who are great live, but it seems that everybody agrees that NOFX sounds terrible in concerts.

not sure but they don’t sound that bad on their live albums I Heard They Suck Live and They’ve Actually Gotten Worse Live
have a soft spot for this band since they were a high school favorite, but I wouldn’t pay to see them in concert lol
|
| |
as atari says, i thought they sounded fine back when they made those live albums (i've also seen videos from back then and they're pretty solid). but if you watch some of their more recent live sets on youtube, they're quite sloppy. especially mike; i think the other guys actually sound fine if you take mike outta the equation.
to be fair, nofx songs are pretty difficult to play

Cokie the Clown is pretty good. It's really dark yeah, sometimes very hard to listen to. Some of the songs are just totally fucked. Like Bathtub.
While I wish there were more actual punk songs besides the closer, it makes me think that NOFX still has some great records left in them. The experimental ideas on it could be refined and combined with more punk energy to make the best NOFX record in a while.

Try and sit through the latest Cokie the Clown film clip "Negative Reel" without grimacing.
By the way, fat mikes version on the Olympic rings as band logos, is the coolest tattoo I've seen in a long time.

Just listening to it now, love how Fat Mike makes up words to help his rhymes. "red-neckxuals"
I think he's trying to make up for his bad joke in Vegas with this one. Not a bad track, dubby goodness, guest vocals are worked in well, Hef is blowing his horn again, excited to see what the rest of the album will bring.

New single Doors and Fours is one of my favorite tracks they’ve ever done
