We'll see, I hope you're right. Haven't liked anything I've heard from this yet.

@onion I think so too, but I'm trying to be objective and not raise sowings expectations too much lol

Sowing. You are a fairly experienced reviewer. How can i condense my thoughts better?

Whenever someone asks me that I always say the same thing: don't. A lot of my earlier reviews (and some of my newer ones) are massive. Eventually you'll grow tired of writing so much and you'll naturally find ways to condense.
if you're interested in bettering your style right now though, the only things that stuck out were that it took you 4-5 paragraphs to start talking about this album. Cut down on the background - 1 paragraph should almost always be enough of a lead in that you can start critiquing the album at hand. The second thing is that you reference almost if not every song here. Find common themes and discuss them, using songs and supporting details rather than the impetus driving the direction of the review.
I dunno though I've written 290 reviews and I still pretty much wing it every time

Thanks for the advice man. This is a harder one to find common themes in because while plenty are there, it would often run the risk of repeating talking about songs. This is more a collection of songs than a cohesive record, so I felt as if it would've just been better describing the songs. I will definitely focus on that for the next record I review

And it's actually salvageable lyrically
So rare for this album

even on the good songs the lyrics are awful
I try to ignore it at least

It's way easier for me to ignore here than on the trilogy

Props on the review, onion. Will read the whole thing asap!

Im surprised this ended up being better than the new Sum 41 tbh.
|
| |
^not sure why, most people prefer green day records to sum 41's. didn't think that would change. also as a fan of sum 41 (more so than green day), im curious which one ill like more.

Somewhere Now first sounded nice and then the guitars came in and the production is just as bad as the previews. Still, doesn't mean it's a great song
