Yellowcard as usual for me, standard fun affair to listen to.

Yes, can't wait to hear this! Between this and new Regina Spektor, tomorrow will be amazing

Lovely job on the review sowing, damn I can't wait to hear that closing track now. Nice personal touch as well. I'm glad to hear this is more along the lines of southern air than lift a sail

wonderful review, i've always enjoyed reading your yellocard write-ups. this band breaking up is huge for me, they really were the most important band of my youth and early adulthood. this could be a 5 eventually, it's a perfect goodbye. fields & fences brought the tears.

"Wtf is wrong with artists thinking those distorted drums sound any good. First Explosions in the Sky then Astronautalis, and now even Yellowcard... I could barely listen to the entirety of What Appears honestly." [2]

It ruins the track for me

I noticed it but it didn't ruin anything for me. Probably would have been better without the distortion though.

Also - I don't cry over music, but I have to admit I came awfully close to shedding a tear the first time Fields & Fences picked up and he started that "I don't have much I can give" part.

They're not really comparable styles in my opinion but F&F is definitely a track that brings the feels

Best tracks for me are 1-4 and the last, I think they'll be hits with anyone. The middle 5 will probably only be appreciated by longtime fans.

Really? On first listen my favorites were the 4-10 (minus wrecking ball) run. Maybe its just because 3 didnt terribly catch my interest at first and the drums ruined 2 for me

Hmm yeah that's kinda the opposite of how I felt lol. First 4 I was like holy shit best YC album ever, but the middle kind of mellowed it out (still great though). Fields & Fences is probably my favorite from this either way.

Good review, at one point you said "vein" instead of in "vain". It's been a pleasure reading your reviews of these favorite bands we both share, Sowing.

Agreed that fields and fences is the best

Maybe the "sowing effect" just hasnt kicked in haha. I mean, other than what appears i liked everything (tho wrecking ball didnt do anything for me), and maybe some tracks will grow overtime, but got yours, while it was alright, kinda got lost after I heard a place we set afire
