they nail the slow, wall-of-noise, emotional builds really well, but their upbeat punky side is just as phenomenal

Lyrically you'd probably dig these guys a lot. The vox are an acquired taste and the 3 records I've heard from them (this included) were all growers. Not sure what your stance on their kind of production will be.
I'd suggest checking LOSE first since it's the one that got me into the band and their most impactful/well-rounded release imo.

I love that this band actually is transparent about their influences and obviously attempts to emulate them. So many "indie rock" bands say "Yeah, we love [big name rock artist]" and then just play more Modest Mouse imitation, but you can legitimately hear nods to Springsteen and Sonic Youth influences all over this band's music.

Have a Heart's chorus sounds exactly like another song to me and I cannot put my finger on what, it's driving me nuts
Album is still really good, Finally has grown on me big time this week, though the stuff on the back half still kicks the first half's ass imo
