I'm still baffled as to how this ended up with the highest average rating of all their LPs (not counting The Color Spectrum). I always felt like this was a mild letdown on the heels of Act IV.

yeah honestly I find myself coming back to this album more than IV, there seem to be more memorable songs for me on this.

VI has Waves, The End of The Earth, A Night On The Town and King of Swords, which don't get me wrong are all great, but those are the ones I remember the most, I don't really remember much else from it.

I feel like IV has more catchy melodies and a better variety of styles. I'm not by any means saying this is anything less than excellent, it's just a step down (melodically, at least) and probably ranks as my 3rd or 4th favorite DH. Color Spectrum is best no matter how you look at things IMO.

Color Spectrum is missing one of my favorite Crescenzo-isms: the constant callbacks to previous songs on the album (or series, if it's TDH)

IV is a better initial listen for newcomers, V is that grower that improves in every way

"Act VI isn't even gonna be an album. It's gonna be a movie :P"

making Act VI a movie is the equivalent of making Avengers Endgame without releasing any of the prior movies before it tbh, and before you say "people should have listened to the albums first", majority of people won't do that, look at game of thrones or lord of the rings

I wouldn't be surprised if Act VI is a theatre production or something very orchestral.

Either way there's no way it's going to live up to the hype imo

I'd be cool with VI being an album accompanied by a theatrical production that encompasses all the other acts to and through VI.

With Sowing on this, V is fun and goofy, but it's also a bit of a mess innit

IV is a lot more focused & potent
