it's v clearly an attempt at psych pop that like i said is too poppy to the point it comes across as disingenuous (like a lot of todays pop of course) but that's just my take
i mean their video for psylla is p obviously a depiction of a guy tripping but w/e

yeah true videos don't really impact the genre of the music though. Guess I can see how Paradise and Hazey could be considered psych but I don't hear it as a primary genre at all tbh

psych pop is quite different than say typical psych rock
compare let it happen to be above it by tame impala, penny lane to blue jay way
genre labeling is pretty useless anyway :] end of the day i just wasn't a big fan of this

It certainly isn't the primary genre. The few moments which could be described as psychedelic on here feel totally natural and it certainly doesn't sound like they were purposely attempting to be psychedelic anything.

I wouldn't say either psych pop or rock is inherently better than the other. It's more of a mood thing I guess.
