Heard there was a previously unreleased song on the reissue too. I am curious. No die hards picked it up yet and left a comment?

The bonus track is great. Glad I picked up the reissue instead of one of the used originals for twice as much.

'desire: This is without a doubt the harshest and most spontaneous song off of Spirit of Eden but it delivers a hard rocking chorus and while it isnt very well written its still fun to listen to'

I love it, that organ outro is classic.

It's classic in the context of the album. You have to end things, and I think this is a great ending. Leads you out of the whole world that was the album itself. Makes you feel that you're simultaneously falling to sleep and waking up.

fair enough. it is perhaps a tad less memorable than other parts of the album though

That's right, but I think it's meant to be less memorable, like Runeii on Laughing Stock

Yeah, that was a beautiful writeup.

Glad all of you love these two albums as much as I do/some have looked into it lyrically.

Wealth is definitely the weakest song on the album but the way it ends is perfect for me. I swear that organ could have lasted forever on some of my listens through this album and I would be perfectly content with it.

Thaks Lewis for the great writeup, I'm quite convinced. I believe 'Wealth' has a true transitioning force. I've always felt it as a brige between Eden and Laughing Stock, but also felt that waking up/falling to sleep thing. By structure and philosophy it's indeed the weakest, but I don't find this a bad thing, it has it's purpose.

I agree on everything you said about Runeii. Laughing Stock is not a fixed mental state all along, it's a religious/philosophical/emotional arc, and one of the strongest I've ever experienced. When I said 'Runeii' is meant to be less memorable than the other songs I meant an absolutely positive thing. Runeii is the conclusion, the end of an adventure, and plays this role perfectly. It closes, leads you out, but also summarizes, secures every feeling and leaves you as a whole.
