I'll try to get this as soon as possible.

Seems like an album I shouldn't be passing up, judging on the ratings people are giving it.

i'm still in love with this album nearly two years later. it has such a special place in my heeeeart, as does buckley. just gave it another listen today and yesterday.

so real is really underrated too. its such an unusual track, but its really quite brilliant.

i also disagree with the album being samey, and i would call the album eclectic, tbh.

a leonard cohen cover, a nina simone (her version) cover, a 16th century carol, to hard rock, to ballads, to jazz infleuces, to an eastern tinged haunting rocker. i think the fact most people see the tracks as being softer in mood than what they normally listen to (alternaive rock, metal, etc.) makes people feel that this can be samey, but i think that says more about the music they listen to as opposed to the varied influences and contrasts of the album itself.

anyway, good review, but i disagree, this album is so classic.

After the mountain of praise it gets from the people here and being on the Top of the all-time albums rated (Legacy, but still), I am wondering why it took me so long to check this out. Well, I finally did, and I must say it is... beautiful is the best word I can find to describe it.

Lover, You Should Come Over is incredible, my fav song... Hallelujah is my second fav.

Chris Cornell explains: "It's a song about concentrating on the afterlife you would hope for, rather than the normal monotheistic approach: You work really hard all your life to be a good person and a moral persona and fair and generous......And then you go to hell anyway."

wiki'd it.
