The Chant kinda has a sludge/stoner metal feel but overall kinda lacks energy. I’m betting on Fortitude getting a 3.4

It's like a weaker version of Shooting Star tbh

And that says something cos that song sucks, haha.
Lost hope for the new album tbh, Born for One Thing has been the only above average single.

Yeah, this is definitely shaping up to be the worst Gojira album so far. I hate to be "that guy" for saying this, but I'm getting the sense we'll never get another From Mars to Sirius or WOAF again. At least in terms of intensity and sheer power

You aren't that guy cos those just happen to be two of their best albums.
They've been lost in the shuffle of most modern metal bands since this one tbh, they've lost that trademark Gojira feel.
All power to them though, they're more popular than ever which is definitely due to the more streamlined material they're writing nowadays.

lol, I always feel like the hipster Gojira fan when I tell people I got into them around the FMTS era. My brother and I found that record at an old music store back in 2007; I was about 13 at the time. I actually didn't like the album at the time because it was too heavy for my tastes back then. But then I grew to love it, and my parents got me WOAF in 2008 as a Christmas present... I put it in my stereo system and was instantly hooked by Oroborus \m/

At least we'll always have their live shows, always an incredible experience.

The vocals are buried under reverb, they're barely audible. I don't like stuff like that, always turns me off (when it's not post rock or shoegaze or stuff like that)

Guitars are buried as well, so flat.

Yeah, it kinda baffles me that this was the same guy who produced WOAF. Like what the hell happened, lol

That's fair to assume tbh, fan or not

It's kind of a bad time to get into these guys
Gonna do it anyway lol

Not really, i mean, their legacy it's there, and it's fucking incredible, but the current Jira seems affected by time in a bad way

Yeah its kind of a bummer, WOAF was definitely the peak, been waiting to get that same vibe from them again but the intensity just hasn't been there for the most part aside from a handful of moments.

I know one thing that is REALLY bothering me a lot with these new tracks is just how poorly produced they sound. Guitars especially sound completely drowned and behind in the mix which makes no sense at all for their sound.

I adored L’Enfant Sauvage but felt a sizable drop with Magma. Never fully explored Tetris tbh but will based on ^
