I agree Animals and Resident - Dead Bees is stunning all the way through. Cafe Europa, Krishna Blue, and the last two are among my favs.

Gone to Earth is my favorite Sylvian and this is probably my least favorite, despite how great it is. One of the best discographies out there.

The hookless parts don't help they come across as atonal, instrumental wanking tbh.

One of the best discographies out there. [2]

I only like specific songs from his projects (except Beehive and Manafon/Manafon Variation new songs which I love all the way through) but the songs I like from him I really love and he's produced so many different types of music you're bound to like something unless you don't like his voice.

@Talons i don't really rate gone to earth that much tbh, just doesn't seem to play into the atmosphere it's got going unlike later albums by David. the ambient tracks are sweet though.

The Laughter & Forgetting/Before The Bullfight combo is enlightenment.

Anyone got any favourite David Sylvian songs which aren't on any of his main LPs?

How Safe is Deep and To the Reason are two in particular which are incredible and people should hear them.

Forbidden Colours (it's a bonus track on beehive so it doesn't count as main)

Yeah, that's an obvious winner. I refuse to listen to Beehive without Forbidden Colours and Promise as the last two tracks. Some Kind of Fool, Blue of Moon, Ride, Do You Know Me Now/Where's Your Gravity, For the Love of Life, World Citizen - I Won't Be Disappointed, Wasn't I Joe, Heartbeat II, Scent of Magnolia and the bootleg live version of Blackwater are also gems.

I usually associate Forbidden Colours with Brilliant Trees since that's more or less from the same era, but another one is Modern Interior, which was recorded in 2011 so I have it as one of the bonus tracks on my copy of Manafon

This is finally being repressed on vinyl, releasing September 2nd. Get it before it becomes £300 again.
