-The entire portion of the movie dedicated to Anakin and Padame's romance is a complete, badly acted cringe fest (its not even a case of "pull out some bad lines) that completely tears the movie out of any ACTUAL interesting development or action because a romance plot needs to be contrived to make the forced story of Anakin becoming Vader work.

-The battle with the jedi and the clones is literally worst than the final battle in the first movie. Like yeah Jar Jar sucks and stuff, but at least the action could focus on a few aspects instead of going full sensory overload and making an entire disposable battle because I cant remember anything.

-Generally bad dialogue/shots, this movie was the worst of dedicating 90% of shots to "walk, talk, stop, talk, walk" so you're already asleep. At least the first movie has them exploring a planet and shit and the third movie focuses on Anakin/Palpetine or Obi Wan on Utapa.

-Jar Jar convincing everyone to go to war is pure bullshit. Worst than ANYTHiNG jar jar managed in episode one.

this is off the top of my head, Ill think of more stuff but I have more issues with every scene in episode 2 than I have with episode 1 or 3. because I liked certain specifics of episode 1 (pod racing was alright, darth maul, ect) but I cant think of one single thing about episode 2 I can honestly say I actually like outside of John William's scoring.

Well, it's not like they teach you how to pick up girls at the Jedi temple. It's understandable to me that Anakin would be creepy af, it fits his Jedi monk character. Would it really be better if he was Jack from Titanic???

That's the thing people forget about the originals though. They're great films, but some of the acting in places was just.... Bad.

The entire franchise has its issues for sure, but they still know how to really hit their mark.

yeah this is inconceivable to me. not only is the battle itself better, but it lacks the scenes of an annoying child miraculously being the best starfighter pilot and spouting annoying one liners, as well as jar jar astromagically destroying tanks and shit purely by accident

From a story telling perspective, the transition to them just kinda... being there to falling in love is so awkwardly pushed forward where it happens when theyre just awkwardly frolicking in a field together and then fall down and want to have babies. Like I understand that theres only so much time to develop a romance that is supposed to be the catalyst of Anakin becoming Vader, but FUCK, there should be better ways to handle it. Meanwhile the acting is abysmal and so is the dialogue, it all just kind of comes together for a really horrible scene.

My problem is that with Episode 1's final battle, even if its complete bullshit, I can TAKE something out of it. I have no idea what is going on in a lot of the Clones/Jedi vs Droid battle because its just a bunch of shit shoved everywhere with no real cohesion. The best battles in star wars take it a lot easier and focus on a central force (Like Episode 3s Grevious vs Obi Wan fight) or almost every scene in the original trilogy. The fight between Anakin and Obi Wan and Count Dokuu was just whatever.
