I used to watch SW movies with my old man, bonding and shit, it's not the same thing with books, besides it was all about the visual spectacle, and music, and battles and how fucking COOL Darth Vader was, how do you even put that in a book? Also, they didn't have enough screen time to tell the entire story but still gave us a pointless """adventure""" with Finn and the who gives a fuck character in that casino planet. Talk about lack of direction.. I gave up on SW after Episode VIII, never saw Solo or XI

Apparently the female lead in Solo played by Emilia Clarke made her first appearance since the movie in a comic book that came out last month. She attacks Boba Fett after Empire Strikes Back and steals Carbonite Han Solo and holds a tournament or bidding contest for him inviting the galaxy.

My dream idea of a Star Wars trilogy has always been to this idea that Star Wars needs more Japanese people involved in it's production, especially since much of what people love about the OG trilogy is primarily it's Japanese themes. And no, not Japanese-American or any of that shit, I am talking full-blown Japanese folks.

Masamune Shirow? I mean, GITS is my all time favourite movie and anime but a lot of people have a really bad idea of what Shirows art really is because the anime is COMPLETELY different from the manga. I blew 40 euros on the GITS complete edition and its just.. fan service with some good stories here and there.
But honestly, imo giving an American ip to the Japanese can be as much of a bad idea as the inverse, the Blade Runner anime was.. not very good

I just wanna see George Lucas’s proposed sequel trilogy idea be put to screen. It sounds so interesting with the whole story of the Wills being in control of everything and would’ve opened up new lore, books, tv shows, comics, and videogames.

But instead we got….whatever the hell disney gave us.

We're gonna have to agree to disagree here, but there isn't anything GITS related I don't love, though I prefer the Manga over everything else. But not just GITS, his art with Appleseed is also tremendous, which is why Shinji Aramaki would direct the first movie due to his experience with Shirow's style, as Aramaki could set the tone for the later movies.

I would counter that Blade Runner was an inherently Western franchise. Star Wars may be made in the west, but the original Episode 4 was literally (George Lucas even said this) a reimagining of Yojimbo by Akira Kurosawa. The Japanese themes permeate into Star Wars and I think that is what lends justification to my idea.

Same, but you know if George Lucas had gotten to do his trilogy the fans would've revolted again just like they did with Midichlorians, to them any explanation of the force to define it's existence is considered heresy. I don't blame George for not wanting to do it.
