I've only heard Choirs of the Eye. I should check out more of this stuff.

@bloc: unfortfunately no

That's a shame. Although it would be nice if the vocalist had a bit more melody to his voice on this.

I think you'd dig Coffins of Io though. Similar to this.

Yeah I heard about that one, I'll get on it soon

Dude yes bloc, Coffins on Io is so damn good.

It's pretty good. Amalia's Theme, Magnetism, and Brittle Urchin are all very good.

Coyote is way worse than this imo. Maybe I didn't get it, but I just thought it was awful. To be fair, I also didn't like "Part the Second" either, so maybe I just wasn't feeling the Toby of that period.

Coyote is my least favorite KD but still good, and Part the Second is amazing.
I rewrote most of this review and reorganized a lot of things. I had a difficult time getting all my points across the first time around and this is not the easiest band to write about.

Relistened to Part the Second again last week and enjoyed it more. Still need to revisit Coyote though

Also, holy shit Talons, I did not realize the PHOBOS reference. That's awesome. Good rewrite... "future-noir" is a great way of describing this

Thanks, and agreed. Same with “avant-goth,” one of the genres listed in the Kayo Dot bandcamp page.
