"everyone knows they're a generic punk band with a cringe-inducing gimmick that does the trans community more harm than good. they are so many other bands that write better music and communicate the same message in a smarter way."

"bands like them have been around for years, decades even. if GLOSS disappeared tomorrow, nothing would change."

"so many "queercore" bands have been doing a better job for years."

to this day hostgalaxy has not given an example of any of these bands which probably means he just wanted to recklessly vent at a band who makes him insecure about his sexuality

Pretty much yeah. Though Punk's entire style is dedicated on being an insufferable douchebag so...

NPR will do a special on this band 15 years from now and we'll all have to pretend they were good and not an obvious example of mediocre tokenism.

>NPR will do a special on this band 15 years from now

why

>and we'll all have to pretend they were good

who's forcing you to pretend anything

>and not an obvious example of mediocre tokenism.

tokenism how exactly

"People who like this band in the future will just be pretending because of NPR" is the most galaxy-brained take I've seen on here in a while

You don't understand why a trans-feminist hardcore band, that formed during a very important time in the trans movement, would be considered important enough to have an NPR special in the future?

I haven't listened to this band enough to really have an opinion on them lol

I just think "People who disagree with me are just pretending" is one of the most lazy, intellectually bankrupt opinions you can have and "theoretical future people who I think will disagree with me will just be pretending" is even more idiotic

You're using quotes for things I never said. Ease up on the projection buddy.

You literally said people in 15 years are going to "have to pretend" to like this lmao. Unless you're just devil's advocate-ing and secretly think this album is good that is very directly implying that you think people who disagree with you (as to the quality of this album) in the future will just be pretending

But no you're right how dare I project the very obvious meaning of your words onto your words
