Woah guys calm down, I just get easily distracted so whenever I listen to an album I have to only listen to it otherwise I miss a lot

And yeah you could fit like 4-5 grindcore albums in the time this takes to finish

boss at my old (retail) job was obsessed with swans and used to play their shit through the speakers including their old stuff like Cop and Filth and that culminated in some bizarre looks from customers and a few complaints but he would refuse to turn it off

This album is like the victory lap after Seer and TBK, nothing new nothing crazy just a solid demonstration of what they already were doing.

First listen, here are my smart and awaited comments:

Cloud of Forgetting feels like going in a grocery store to get a Swans song and buying the cheap store brand.

Cloud of Unknowing is also pretty unassuming. Seems like Gira is getting lazy in his songwriting and keeps on resorting to the same droning patterns. Sounds good still, but quite pedestrian compared to the previous albums.

The World Looks Red / Black has a cool backdrop, but refuses to build on it enough to keep it... oh, there it is... eh, that's all? Felt like they should have pushed the envelope much more in the second half. Guess they're too old for this shit now.

People Like Us sounds pretty interesting. Good idea to have a simpler, more engaging song as the closer after the droning three tracks. First half was a bit disappointing all in all.

That's all I have the time for currently, guess you will all have to wait for part two of my amazing insights.

I'm sure Swans are going to release a Swans Are Dead type of live album (by which I mean a considerable number of new tracks and new versions of old tracks) soon after the end of their last tour. a new studio album shouldn't take more than 5 years as well

As long as the next album isn't two hours, that'd be cool

Frankie M sounds positively nothing at all like it did when I heard them almost 2 years ago now and that's great

really dig the groove these guys get into on the title track and World Looks Black/Red, it makes up for the relatively decent, at times monotonous, buildups
