This is an excellent review. I agree with the point:
"Many of the songs here would have appeared groundbreaking and experimental five years ago, but unfortunately, after such colossal post-rock efforts as The Seer and To Be Kind, tracks like "Butt of Forgetting" and "Butt of Unknowing" sound like they follow a slightly exhausted formula."
This is an awesome album, and I think I like it more than The Seer, but it's unfortunate this album kind of seems too formulaic at times (though it does still throw me for some nice twists). TBK is so distinct from The Seer, it'd be neat if Glowing Man was as equally distinct from the previous two. Cannot wait for this next album.
